We came up with the name for these Mint chocolate chip zoanthid corals many years ago as we have yet to find another coral just like it. Zoanthids are in general very hardy. If you are having trouble with zoanthids, it may be best to check that your Alkalinity is stable and above 7.5dKH. Stripping your nutrients(Nitrates and Phosphates specifically) to zero can also upset zoanthids). Caution should be used while keeping these corals (especially with handling) as they may contain palytoxin. We do not handle them without gloves and do not handle them at all if we have an open wound. Please be sure to read up on palytoxin elsewhere before purchasing. Like all the corals currently listed from TerraReef, this specimen is an aquacultured coral. It is very important that you are aware of the care requirements of these corals before ordering. Please take some time to read some information from a few sources. This item is a "stock item" meaning the coral you receive may not be the exact one in the picture, but a clone similar in appearance. Sometimes we include images of our mother colonies as well to give an idea of what the corals will grow into under proper care. Approximate size range may also vary between individual specimens.
