Widely used during this time in a typical Italian salad mix ca lled 'misticanza' which consisted of a mix of wild & cultivated leaves and also as a medicinal green for reducing fevers. Perennial. A hardy cold weather salad green able to grow well through winter and tolerate moderate frost. An attractive small plant to 20cm high showing long, slender, green leaves with small 'horns' resembling a deer's antlers (hence the name) along the side of the leaf.
