Mirror Image (I) Inspired by the dramatic beauty of Utah’s Arches National Park, this piece is one of the first from my Mirror Image series. Travel deeply influences my work, and the landscapes I encounter often find their way into clay. The day I visited Arches, it had just stopped raining — puddles of fresh water reflected the sandstone formations along the trail. In one of those moments, I saw a rare reflection of an arch in still water — a vision that inspired this series and my exploration of mirrored forms in clay. I chose black and white clay to evoke the contrast between the desert’s shadows and light, reflecting its ever-changing landscape. The exterior is left unglazed to celebrate the clay’s natural texture, while the interior is finished in soft white glaze for a smooth, refined surface. It's an homage to nature’s timeless beauty — and the quiet magic that reveals itself when we pause to notice. Truly a collector’s piece, infusing serene, natural beauty into any space.
