As the days grow shorter, I wanted to capture the Nicotiana flowers growing in my garden, a bloom with a subtle yet incredibly complex jasmine scent that kept me out at night and perfumed my house all summer. She is still out there blooming, and I am soaking up each morning I come out and still can see the brilliant white blooms poking their heads out. Paired with the Luna Moths, a creature that spends most of its life cycle growing before transforming into the gorgeous moths for a mere week at most, this drawing is a reminder of the cycles we are a part of, wherever we put our efforts, there is a time for rest and surrender just as surely as there is a time for life and long summer days.
