Buried deep behind the outer paint is a painting of the dunes in Truro. I was attempting to improve it one late night when I grew frustrated that it wasn't going where I wanted it to - mistake after mistake - finally taking my painting knife and smearing the paint everywhere. Grew absolutely fascinated by what emerged. Continued to work it in that manner until - voila - as you see it now. This is a truly special painting - on my own fireplace mantel as I write this.
