The Mitchell Cobra is a 57in two-piece ash cue with a cobra design through the butt. The ash shaft is what places it above the painted hardwood club cues: ash is stiffer, so less o f the stroke is lost to flex, and its straight grain gives a visible line for checking alignment. It is fitted with a 9mm Elkmaster tip. Elkmaster is a soft, single-layer leather tip with a long track record in snooker, chosen because it compresses on contact and holds chalk well — the two properties a player needs to apply side and screw. The trade-off is that a soft tip mushrooms and needs shaping more often than a hard one, which is normal maintenance rather than a fault. Show more
