Caring for Your Cherry Shrimp: Caring for these cherry shrimp is a breeze. They are incredibly adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, making them a perfect fit for both soft and hard water aquariums. To bring out their best colors, we recommend maintaining a gH (general hardness) of at least 5. Ensure your aquarium is fully cycled before introducing these delightful crustaceans. Keep ammonia and nitrite levels at zero, with nitrates below 25ppm. A weekly water change of 10-20% is advised to maintain low nitrate levels. Be cautious not to overfeed, as it can lead to shrimp fatalities – 2-3 feedings per week are ample. Breeding Cherry Shrimp: Breeding cherry shrimp is a straightforward process. If you have both males and females in the aquarium, expect them to breed naturally. Female shrimp will carry their eggs for about 30 days before they hatch into miniature versions of their parents. Ensure your tank is well-established, as shrimplets can only feed on biofilms until they mature. Keep in mind that crossbreeding may occur, reverting offspring to a wild coloration, though not significantly. You can separate them to maintain their vibrant hues. To boost reproduction and shrimplet survival rates, consider using shrimp additives like vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and botanical products.
