Keep a fire-safe bowl, such as ceramic, beneath the burning sage whilst you use it, as the ashes will fall sporadically. Follow the instructions below for the purpose that you are using the sage. Keep in mind that the smudge stick may burn out easily, so you may need to re-light it as you go. Once you have finished, you can extinguish the embers in sand (we recommend filling the fire-safe bowl with sand for this purpose) or you can leave the smudge stick in the bowl and allow it to go out naturally. 🜃 How to Cleanse Yourself and Others: You can then use the smoke to cleanse yourself or the aura of a person by holding it close to and around the body, allowing the smoke to surround.
