Miyagoshi is a small handmade whetstone producer located in Kyoto, Japan. We have been working with Miyagoshi for years to produce our house brand Tanso stones. When we first visit ed their factory we were happily pleased to see just how handmade these stones were .These stones are made using a vitrified method, each batch is hand mixed, pressed under high pressure, and fired in a kiln for 36 hours. Every batch is quality tested for cutting performance and optimum hardness. These stones have a high ratio of abrasive materials to binder providing exceptional cutting speed and feedback during use.
