The Heart of Creation is the fifth of eight sets of John Main’s collected talks. He is a teacher in the apophatic tradition of imageless, non-conceptual prayer. This form of ‘pure prayer’ transcends all thought and imagination – not looking at God, but into God. These talks offer a simple and practical guide to 'pure prayer'. By ceasing to struggle to find words and images by which we all too easily try to control God, we give God freedom to be himself in our hearts and we begin to pray with 'the mind of Christ', as St Paul teaches.
