Nosson Kamenetsky (1930-2019).In 1987, R. Nosson Kamenetsky retired from his position in the ITRI Yeshiva and began exhaustive research into the life of his father, R. Yaakov Kamenetsky. This research resulted in these comprehensive 1400-page books published by HaMesorah publications, consisting primarily of analysis of episodes of the lives of sixty eminent rabbinic personalities. This work was to be the first of four volumes on these subjects. Only a limited amount of copies were produced, as R. Nosson felt that this work was not for the general public. Immediately after its publication, an uproar ensued, as some felt that some of the events should not be recorded for posterity. Eventually a controversial ban was placed on the book, resulting in most of the copies getting destroyed. The books were later republished in a revised version.2 volumes. Includes original wrappers.
