The August 2010 issue of Relix magazine puts moe. front and center, with the Albany-bred quintet landing the cover story. Known for their relentless touring and a fanbase that measures devotion in show counts and setlist deep cuts, moe. has long been a cornerstone of the jam community, and this issue gives them the full Relix treatment they have earned. Beyond the moe. cover story, the issue is stacked with compelling content. The Black Keys appear alongside a scene built on raw, blues-soaked grit, sitting in curious, worthwhile contrast to the improvisational world Relix has always called home. Leftover Salmon brings the jamgrass perspective, carrying the torch of a sound they helped define. Tea Leaf Green rounds out the headliners, representing the San Francisco jam tradition that Relix has documented since the beginning. Add the "and more" that every Relix issue delivers, and you've got a time capsule from a moment when the jam world was alive, gigging hard, and worth documenting in print. This is the kind of back issue that holds up, a snapshot of the community at full strength.
