A mame zara, or small condiment dish, from Hataman Touen's Texture collection. The mokko shape traces back to the Japanese quince, its four-lobed silhouette one of the most recogni zable crests in Japanese decorative tradition. The nashiji (pear-skin) glaze achieves its characteristic speckled surface through iron powder mixed into the glaze, creating fine dark flecks that vary from piece to piece.
