The Deed Is Done is the sixth studio album by American southern rock band Molly Hatchet, released in November 1984. This album marks a significant change in the band's lineup, as it is the first with only two guitarists, following the departure of Steve Holland and the addition of John Galvin on keyboards and the return of drummer Bruce Crump. Additionally, it is the last album to feature longtime guitarist Dave Hlubek for 21 years. The sound of "The Deed Is Done" differs noticeably from the band's earlier southern rock offerings, as it completes the transition towards a more commercial and FM-friendly hard rock sound. Despite this shift, the album still showcases Molly Hatchet's signature musical style and powerful performances. This album also holds historical significance as Molly Hatchet's last studio release on Epic Records, marking the end of their association with the label. Furthermore, "The Deed Is Done" remains the band's last studio album to date to enter the Billboard charts, making it a notable milestone in their discography. In 2013, "The Deed Is Done" was reissued under the German label SPV/SteamHammer, allowing a new generation of fans to enjoy the band's evolving sound and timeless rock melodies.
