Monaco was a side project (1995–2000) of Joy Divsion and New Order bass player Peter Hook, alongside David Potts, the sole remaining member of Revenge. The album reflects Hook and Potts' shared passion for blending rock with electronic and dance music. While it retains some of the melodic sensibilities and bass-driven grooves reminiscent of New Order, it establishes it’s own distinct identity with a rawer and more introspective tone.
