A third of its botanicals are local to the Schwarzwald — including lingonberries, spruce, bramble leaves — giving it a distinct forest character. The brand’s legend traces to Wing Commander Montgomery “Monty” Collins, who in the 1950s managed a guesthouse (“The Wild Monkey”) in the Black Forest and served his own gin. In 2006, Alexander Stein resurrected the concept, partnering with master distillers to revive the traditional spirit and expand it into a premium, globally beloved gin.
