During courtship, the oropendola (Spanish for “golden pendulum”) literally swings into action, rolling upside-down on a branch like a gymnast on the uneven bars. I hung the oropendola off Nicaragua, savoring those moments when I could make landmasses and birds a compositional pair. I most enjoyed painting its graphic face. The Icterid’s two-toned beak protrudes from its forehead like a horn. Each study comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please allow six weeks for custom matting and delivery. All sales final.
