In celebration of the exhibition ‘Lovely as a Tree’ at the Linnean Society (15 January to 28 June 2024), we offer this image of the Mora tree as a souvenir postcard. Images of the Mora tree of Guiana formed part of the exhibition. A theme of the exhibition was how trees have been depicted through the history of science. It was rare that a tree was depicted in full when this image was used to describe the Mora at a meeting of the Linnean Society on 20 March 1838. At that time, depictions largely focussed solely on leaves or fruits.
