It is manufactured as a straight cane of consistent diameter and intended to be melted in a torch flame for making beads, small sculptures, and decorative components. The Canyon Pastel color is used when you want an opaque, earthy tone that reads well on its own, works cleanly in layered designs, and provides strong contrast for stringer work and surface decoration. How it is used: Preheat the tip of the rod in the far flame to prevent thermal shock, then bring it into the working flame to form a gather. Wind molten glass onto a prepared mandrel to build bead shape, or apply it as a base layer over another compatible soft-glass color. Pull stringers from a small gather for fine linework, scrollwork, and detail. Use as an opaque design color for dots, striping, and simple overlays, then shape with gravity and marvering.
