Thuja orientalis 'Morgan' Morgan Arborvitae represents a distinguished Australian cultivar developed by Mal Morgan in the 1970s, prized among dwarf conifer collectors for its chame leon-like seasonal color transformation. Lime-green summer foliage transitions to purple autumn tones, then deepens to rich orange as winter cold intensifies—creating sustained chromatic drama against the season's muted palette. This true dwarf reaches merely 4 feet tall with a 2-foot spread, making it exceptionally suitable for rock gardens, specimen cultivation, and container applications. Its compact stature and dynamic color progression render it an outstanding choice for gardeners seeking year-round visual interest and refined ornamental character in space-constrained settings.
