This Beni Ourain was hand-woven in the High Atlas, by an Amazigh weaver working on a vertical wooden loom in the Berber knot. The wool is left undyed, its natural tone settling som ewhere between cream and sage. Rather than a flat pile, the knot here is worked into raised bobbles, set out in a grid down the full length of the rug - a texture built by hand, knot by knot, rather than a pattern drawn in colour. One of a kind. Woven by a single weaver, on a single loom. The piece in the photographs is the piece that will arrive.
