This rug was hand-woven in the Atlas Mountains, by an Amazigh weaver working on a vertical wooden loom in the Berber knot. The material is undyed sheep wool, its cream held bare ac ross most of the field. The pattern is drawn rather than repeated: two tall triangular forms rise the length of the rug, crossed by a scatter of freehand lines in black and rust, and interrupted by solid blocks of red, pink and dusty blue that sit where the weaver chose to place them rather than where a grid required. One of a kind. Woven by a single weaver, on a single loom. The piece in the photographs is the piece that will arrive.
