Feeling a little broken? Mosaics are, at their philosophical core, the art form of taking something broken and making it into something more beautiful than it was before, even when it was whole. Which is either a metaphor for resilience or just a really satisfying way to spend an afternoon. Honestly, it's both. In this beginner-friendly, self-paced mosaic workshop, you get to break things on purpose — dishes, tiles, glass — and then arrange the pieces into something completely new. Cathartic? Deeply. Creative? Absolutely. Surprisingly meditative once you get going? Every time. Many mosaic artists repurpose broken dishes, inherited china, beads, and other sentimental pieces that can't be used the way they once were. Bring what you've got — the chipped mug, the plate that didn't survive the move, the thing that broke and felt like a sign — and help yourself to our assortment of glass tiles, mosaic tiles, and glazed pottery fragments too. Because our mosaic materials are a byproduct of our working pottery studio, the selection changes constantly. Glazed pottery that's never picked up by its creator eventually becomes mosaic fodder. Nothing wasted. Everything transformed. The broken pieces find new life here, which is, again, definitely a metaphor. ✨ What's Included All tools and adhesives Access to our assortment of glass tiles, mosaic tiles, and abandoned glazed pottery pieces Self-paced instruction in a supportive studio environment The deeply satisfying permission to break things All skill levels welcome. Kids under 12 should bring an adult to help with tools if needed. Bring your broken pieces. Leave with something whole. 🧡
