“London trio Mosquitoes are the next point in the lineage of British post punk that we’ve been waiting 20 years for.” - Jennifer Lucy Allen (The Quietus) For seven years, UK trio Mosquitoes produced a mysterious and beguiling blend of post punk deconstruction, No Wave clatter, and dub atmospherics that has garnered them a cult following. Across a range of transmissions the group created a unique sonic space replete with bass lines that throbbed and slunk through mixes, crackles of treated guitar, voices that sat just beyond the edge of being intelligible. Fundamentally this is music that is enticing but refuses to be easily parsed. 2014 Complete 2021 commemorates the band at the end of the project, collecting every track released by Mosquitoes while active, from their first two self-releases to those on a range of cult experimental labels (Ever/Never, I Dischi Del Barone, Feeding Tube, Alter, World of Echo, Digital Regress).
