The Xi5 offers a host of new features including sophisticated steering transmission, well-lit status indicators, fully protected electronics, a low-profile mount, and a composite shaft. It's engineered to be reliable and long-lasting. The new Xi5 includes wireless capability "right out of the box", enabling you to precisely control your motor from anywhere on the boat. A wireless foot pedal is standard with freshwater models and a hand-held remote is standard with saltwater models. The new Xi5 also runs smooth and extremely quiet. How It's Unique The Xi5 series is a step-up from the (now discontinued) MotorGuide Wireless line of motors. While both models can be controlled wirelessly, only the Xi5 line offers the ability to use a GPS to control and position your boat. Additionally, the Xi5 is available with thrust options of 55, 80 and 105 lbs. This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. When not in use, the shaft and head can be quickly removed from the water and laid on the deck for storage.
