Motormaster is the book of reference for all owners of motor cruisers and other power-driven craft capable of making passages along the coast or across short stretches of open sea.Using this book, the skipper of any motor driven vessel with a cruising speed of between 10 and 40 knots will be able to explore, with confidence and safety, new harbours and anchorages within a comfortable half day's cruise. The authors explain the basic principles of pilotage and navigation, how to use charts and make a passage plan, how to operate the large range of electronic aids available and, most importantly, how to manage fuel consumption by calculating the boat's cruising range at different speeds and under varying sea conditions. The chapter on weather forecasting studies the formation of waves and explains how to avoid awkward passages.A clear review of the collision regulations is given with advice on navigating in fog and poor visibility. In the event of misfortune there is guidance on first aid and safety procedures.Author: Pat Langley-Price and Philip OuvryHardback: 256 PagesSKU: P5389
