Behind the Art Growing up in Vancouver, I have had the privilege of having the mountains as my backdrop. While surrounded by local summits like Cypress, Grouse and Seymour, the one that has held my attention is Mount Baker. As a child, I would always point out the glorious mountaintop, visible far in the horizon on a clear morning as I drove to school with my mom. Full of delight and eyes alight with whimsy, my sweet mother would eagerly recount cherished memories of throwing all her snow gear in the car and taking the 8 hour drive with my grandparents to ski its snow-capped peaks. They're my favourite stories. I would give anything to travel back in time and experience that bliss with them. 28x46in | Oil on canvas
