The ball-shaped truss can hold over 10 flowers, and the elliptically cuneate foliage make for a nicely textured backdrop. Mount Saint Helens is a winner of Rhododendron of the Year Award of the American Rhododendron Society. This is an upright grower that can reach 6' tall when mature.
