Removing the crankshaft balance shaft assembly from the Duratec and EcoBoost engine frees up rotating mass and helps to improve engine response. Additionally the Balance Shaft asse mbly weighs up to 18 lbs. depending on what version you have. Installation requires removal of vehicle oil pan.
