The cork massage ball mobilises the transverse arch and stimulates the intrinsic foot muscles - the small, often underworked muscles that govern toe control and load distribution. The toe splay restores spacing and alignment between the toes, improving the line of pull of the intrinsic and extrinsic toe muscles so strengthening exercises are more effective and the foot functions more naturally.
