A conviction, or even an allegation, for a sexually related crime results in a severe emotional reaction from society. Being convicted of such crime is devastating. Beyond the criminal sentence imposed, the shame, anger and social stigma of the conviction, along with the collateral consequences of a conviction can make a person's reintegration into society extremely difficult. The most significant collateral consequence of a sexually related offense conviction is having to register with law enforcement as a "sex offender." While most people are aware of the sex offender registry, many are unaware of how different the laws are from state to state, and how such registration and/or notification requirements impact the lives of those required to register and/or their families. This book, written and compiled by a former lawyer, breaks down each state's sex offender registration and notification laws, and provides a state-by-state analysis, lists the tier classifications of crimes in each state, and provides contact information for attorneys, treatment providers and support groups. This resource guide is designed to help those that are, or soon will be required to, register as a "sex offender." This book provides the information people often seek to determine where they should live, work or attend school, and where they can get additional assistance to comply with the various laws and do what is necessary to move forward to live a productive life. This is an excellent resource guide for anyone who has been convicted of a sexually related crime, or who has a loved one who will soon need to register.ASIN: B0DG8GZJM7VSKU: BVV.B0DG8GZJM7.GCondition: GoodAuthor/Artist:Jaso J.D., IanBinding: PaperbackNote: Any images shown are stock photographs and product may differ from what is shown.
