FAQs STIHL recommends the AK 30 S battery. Would the MSA 80 work with other AK batteries too? The AKS 30 S has the latest technology to provide maximum power to the chainsaw. When other AK-batteries are used, the operator will not have the full power available, and cutting capacity will be reduced. MSA 80 C-B is sold with ¼” P-cutting attachments only. Can I mount a 3/8” sprocket, too? The MSA 80 C-B works best with ¼” chains. That’s why we are not offering a version for 3/8” cutting attachments. Can I use an AP Battery to increase runtime? No, even though chargers are compatible for AP and AK batteries the different battery systems are not compatible in the power tools.
