The MSD 6-BTM is built for turbocharged or supercharged engines, combining full-power CD sparks with an adjustable boost/timing retard circuit to prevent detonation. A dash-mounted control knob lets you dial in timing retard from 0 to 3 degrees per pound of boost, up to a maximum of 15 degrees, countering the cylinder pressure increase that boost creates before it leads to engine-damaging detonation.
