MSD designed this 84697 Crank Trigger Distributor for Chevy small block and big block engines using a Crank Trigger Ignition. The Low-Profile cap allows this distributor to fit tig ht intake systems as well as transfer the high voltage of the MSD racing ignition to the spark plugs. A large diameter HEI style cap with wide spaced terminals as well as an injection molded Rynite rotor with thick vanes stir up the air inside the cap. The high dielectric Rynite base also prevents arcing to the billet housing. The housing is CNC-machined from billet aluminum to exact tolerances. For stability well over 10,000 RPM, a sealed ball bearing as well as a long-sintered bushing supports the .500" steel shaft. Must be used with either an MSD 6, 7 or 8-series ignition.
