MUD: Wheel Basics is the perfect place to begin. Designed for beginners, this 4-week pottery wheel course introduces the fundamental skills of wheel throwing in a relaxed, supportive studio environment. You'll learn how to wedge clay, centre on the wheel, open, pull walls, trim, and glaze your work, creating your first functional pottery pieces along the way. Each class is guided step-by-step, making it approachable for complete beginners, while those with a little experience can use the time to strengthen technique, build confidence, and improve consistency. Your course includes: Four weekly 3-hour classes (12 hours of instruction) Use of studio clay, all studio tools and equipment All bisque and glaze firings A selection of studio glazes Additional clay available for purchase if needed By the end of the course, most students will take home 3–6 finished pieces, depending on pace and practice. Terms & Conditions Classes are open to adults aged 18 and over. Course fees are non-refundable. MUD: Wheel Basics does not offer make-up classes due to the short, sequential nature of the course.
