I first discovered John Kalb pottery several years ago in Tāhuna/Queenstown. I was drawn to the organic earthy tones and feel of the tumblers and the story that went with them. Joh n digs the clay he works with. Several years later, while low key on the serious hunt for more John Kalb pottery, I saw him at a market stall on the lake front. {my māmā can confirm there were Actual tears}. Meeting him confirmed my intuition. He’s an awesome guy. So it is my honour to bring you some of his work through Chasing Summits. First colour drop is the mossy blue tones I first fell in love with.
