Mugo Pine, Pinus mugo mughus, is a ground hugging evergreen that stays at a manageable height of 2- 3' tall. Upright branches, with long deep green needles give this spreading shru b a unique structure. It is used well as a specimen among taller, finer textured evergreens. It can also be used as low growing border or hedge. Dwarf Mugo Pine fits perfectly in Japanese gardens and can even be used for making bonsai trees.
