The Mule Back Standard is the “lite version” of the MBXL - it is a compact versatile carrier system. It allows a visual out the back window if you have one and your interior build doesn’t block your view. It mounts quickly to your rear operable door. The only limit to carrying a variety of items is your imagination! Complete configuration is in your hands. Mount cargo boxes, skis carriers, bike carriers , water containers, etc. the options are limitless, and there is space for you to be as creative as you want! The Mule back Standard is laser cut to precision from a solid piece of plate aluminum. The MBS is designed for you to configure as you wish, and change configuration for the trip you are taking. TheMBS as with all of the JERK Engineered Products line of rear mounted system, is engineered to serve you on the toughest terrain and harshest places you may travel to. The MBS mounts securely to the innovative structural hinge bracket and requires a mounting hole in the door between the rear Mercedes symbol and the hinges, and a larger one directly opposite it inside the door, hidden behind the interior trim panel. Additionally, there is a mounting hole at the lower outer edge at the very bottom of the MBS for a final secure mounting. Included are reinforcement plates to be sure your system is integrated with your van properly. The installation of this unit is simple but due and one person can install this easily. Note again that there is no need to change out hinges - ever, you keep your original hinges, which are panted the color of your van!
