Once you have your desired length of canvas free, slide the rings apart so there is one on each end of your canvas. They will not roll arond when the opening slots are close to the table due to how they are designed. When you want to let more canvas out or to roll your canvas up to store it, simply move the rings together again and roll your canvas back through the slots Twist the slots away from the end of the canvas to ensure it stays nicely rolled inside.
