Murdannia keisak is an attractive and somewhat unusual aquarium stem plant from Asia, producing slender stems with lance-shaped leaves that develop warm pink-red to coppery tones u nder good light and CO2 conditions. Its fine-textured, colourful appearance makes it a distinctive addition to planted aquariums where it contrasts effectively with green stem plants in the background.It grows best with medium light and CO2 supplementation for the most compact internodes and the warmest pink-red colouration on new growth. Without CO2 it can be grown but becomes greener and more elongated. A nutritious substrate and iron-containing fertiliser help maintain the warm tones on actively developing leaves.Supplied as an established potted plant, Murdannia keisak suits aquariums from 50 litres upward.
