Mushin (無心) is a mental state often translated as no mind in English but the translation does not reflect the profound meaning of the expression well. Mushin is a state of mind free of thoughts of anger, fear or ego. It does not mean that there are no thoughts at all, but those thoughts are perfectly focused on the task at hand and free of emotions that cloud influence one's judgment.
