Musk Xylene (or Musk Xylol) is the gentlemen's "shaving musk". Because of its soapy and fatty qualities, it was frequently found as part of classic fougère type fragrances and men's colognes in general. Perhaps its most famous overdose was in Canoe created by Jean Carles for Dana (see our demo named "Kayak" below for the formula of this classic fougère fragrance). It is, however, effective at very small amounts. It blends beautifully with the other classic nitro musks which we also stock: Musk Ambrette and Musk Ketone. Musk Xylene is a crystalline powder which you can add directly to your juice by weight as it will dissolve in the blend. IMPORTANT: Musk Xylene and Musk Ambrette are prohibited from fragrance use in most countries. At Fraterworks we do not use either of these musks in any of our products. We sell the musks solely so that fragrance aficionados can have access to all the materials of classical perfumery. This should not be used in production cosmetics or fragrances unless you are certain your target market allows it. NOTE: We package all high odour or high risk materials individually in separate heat sealed aluminium bags to mitigate any risk of cross-contamination.
