Mussels are some of the most delicious, best value seafood you’ll find, due to them being easily rope-grown and harvested. Their meat is bright orange and very flavoursome and make a fabulous starter or main. Often cooked with shallots, cream and white wine or with our Moules Marinière Home-Made Sauce. In Cornwall you’ll commonly find them cooked in the local cider – a delicious treat to try at home too! Like most shellfish, they really don’t need a long cook time, a few minutes steamed in the sauce just enough to open their shells will mean you’ll get the most tender meat. We have a long term relationships with Tim of Porthilly Shellfish and Miles of Fowey Shellfish located in the North village of Rock and the south coast town of Fowey. Our mussels are grown in the deep, clear, clean waters off the Cornish coast, renowned for its water clarity. Please Note: Please see our Storage & Preparation Instructions below for best advice. Please note, that on occasion due to weather, species and market conditions we may have to source Mussels from high-quality suppliers outside of Cornwall.
