Product information Mutaflor® is a probiotic (capsule) which contains a viable non-pathogenic strain of Escherichia coli (E coli), named Escherichia coli Nissle 1917. It was first isolated in 1917 by Professor Alfred Nissle from the faeces of a soldier during the First World War. It had been noticed that a particular soldier “in contrast to the large majority of his comarades, had suffered neither from dysentery nor from any other intestinal diseases”. Nissle went on to further demonstrate its ability to exert beneficial effects on various gastrointestinal disorders. Storage This product is temperature sensitive & needs to be kept refrigerated at 2-8°C. A short break in refrigeration at room temperature (up to 72 hours or 3 days) will not harm the product. We ship via express post & wrap the product in our insulated woolcool to keep it cool during transit.
