KURINUKI YUNOMIS: A collection of tea/coffee cups - Yunomis (large) & Guinomis(small). Formed using a traditional Japanese process of Kurinuki. The processinvolves carving a solid piece of clay into the final form through subtraction. Herea Black Stoneware is used as the primary body, finished in a various Shinos and TinWhite glazes. Muzuri Ware is a ceramics studio run by architecturaldesigner and maker Kyri Mouzouris. Following anarchitectural education, a curiosity and requisiteto practise within multiple fields of craft led him toexplore carpentry, blacksmithing, and ceramics beforeestablishing his own studio in Highgate, North London.Alongside his ceramic studio, he is engaged in leadingboth student and private architectural projects,fostering an interdisciplinary approach that bridgesall fields. Influenced by traditional Japanese craft &design methodologies, works honour the textures &imperfections of locally sourced foraged materials.Often collected from the coasts, forests and riverbedsof England, works aim to capture and embody theenvironmental qualities of the materials’ origin.Current collections focus on tea ware, blendingantiquated aesthetics with refined, robust forms. MuzuriWare also collaborates with multiple Michelin-starredrestaurants, creating bespoke tableware that aligns withthe visual and functional demands of high-end culinary experiences.
