Mazda changed the design of the 6-speed tr ansmission somewhere in between the 2001 and 2002 model years. So if you have a 2001-2002 6-speed, please check your VIN before ordering your shifter rebuild kit. If the last six digits of your VIN are below 220738, then you have the "small" ball shifter.
