Blockbuster / Trhak DVDSynopsisAspiring screenwriter Jíša writes a script that offers an authentic portrayal of contemporary village life. When his script is accepted, he learns that a director is already casting for the roles. However, Jíša soon discovers that his realistic work has been transformed into a grand, musical revue filled with songs and dances. The film crew heads to the village of Lipovec, where they enlist the help of local residents for the shoot. The story's hero is the elegant pyrotechnician Ticháček, who joins the local agricultural cooperative to implement progressive fertilization methods for higher yields. He stays with the Lukeš family and meets a charming teacher, Eliška, who is in love with the local estate owner, Pavel Lenský. Ticháček also encounters the forester Kalina, who fiercely protects the innocence of his three daughters by driving away suitors with gunfire. Much to Jíša's dismay, the entire film is accompanied by singing, dancing, and a jubilant revue atmosphere.
