Dzine's fusion of commerce, kustom kulture, and high art made him an international sensation. He has customized an 18-foot boat into a multimedia installation, launched kustom nail art salons in New York, and has a luxurious volume celebrating the kustom nail movement with contributions from prestigious figures. Chicago-based artist Carlos Rolon (born 1970), aka Dzine, is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation award for Painting and Sculpture. His work has been included in exhibitions and is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York; the Museo del Barrio, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and the Bass Museum of Art, Miami.
