In fall of 2020 I created conversation cards to help you have deeper, quality conversations with a romantic interest. That being said, half the deck works with just about anyone to encourage storytelling, insight, and opportunity for authentic connection. I had seen other conversation decks out there but what they lacked was a luxe and creative feel. They weren’t something I’d want to keep on a bookshelf or coffee table and most importantly they didn’t inspire me. I made these cards with creative, artful souls in mind. The gold trimmed edge and unique individual drawings for each card sets this tarot like deck apart from the rest. The creation of this card deck was a collaborative experience. My friends Paean Bleeden and Heidi St. Claire helped by drawing the botanical illustrations above each question. I called on fellow photographers like Bird.ee (Jamie Johnson) to submit underwater photos for me to illustrate and my partner, Andrew Hardy, stayed up late with me toiling over design woes in photoshop to get everything just right. I sat on my couch, day in and day out during the stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne illustrating 78 individual photographs. I had no idea how to draw when I began. I used Procreate and my ipad and there was much trial and error, but sometimes you just need to start right? These cards are my offering to everyone who wants to connect a little deeper. My camera has been my VIP pass to get to know some incredibly interesting people. However the camera only does part of the job, the rest has been up to me. I’ve been told my ability to cut to the core of conversation is my superpower. I wanted to give you a piece of that superpower wrapped up in shiny gold and maroon packaging.
