This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to create Napkins with Patterned Tracking, designed by Margaret Gaynes for Long Thread Media. These napkins may look complex, but they are surprisingly easy to weave. The magic happens in the finishing. Tracking is a fabric effect that occurs during washing, when random diagonal ridges emerge on the surface of the cloth. The result looks like an elaborate twill pattern, even though the fabric is woven entirely in plain weave. We like to think of tracking as a special gift from the weaving gods—and it’s always a delight to see it appear. Generously sized and wonderfully versatile, these napkins can also be used as bread basket liners or casual lap tablecloths. They’re a beautiful, reusable alternative to paper and a lovely addition to any table. Weave structure: plain weave Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 cotton in purple, gold, and bright red.
